To celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Month, the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation (LTFN) will host the National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration on June 21st in tandem with the Northern Indigenous Arts Festival, June 21-23, hosted by the Northern Indigenous Arts Council, Omineca Artist Run Centre Society and Two Rivers Remix Society. We are asking our community and business partners to help us host the first-ever multi-day Northern Indigenous Arts Festival! The powerful, educational, celebratory and healing activities during the festival will be open to everyone to participate in for FREE Activities will include cultural and musical performances, storytelling, drumming, workshops, art vendors, Group Indigenous Artists Exhibition and much more!

This letter is to formally invite you and your organization to take part in the successful execution of the multi-day festival. We are hopeful that you and/or your organization will be able and willing to join us to support this festival as we come together to celebrate Indigenous cultures.

We are looking for the following:

  • Volunteers during the festival activities
  • Community organizations to help support the event by hosting or sponsoring engagement opportunities such as cultural workshops and activities for all ages during the festival
  • Financial sponsors

How does your sponsorship help?

  • Elder’s tent, seating, and blankets
  • Honorariums for cultural performances
  • Workshop fees and supplies
  • Audio and webcasting services
  • Engagement and cultural activities for participants of all ages
  • Events costs like security, first aid, insurance, volunteer support

Sponsorship Levels:

  • Raven - $10,000+
  • Crow - $5,000+
  • Hummingbird - $2,500- $5,000
  • Grouse - up to $2,500

Festival Summery

Over the past few years, NIAC has engaged with regional Indigenous artists and determined that there is a need for a multi-day arts festival to celebrate and support the work of Indigenous artists in Northern BC.

The Northern Indigenous Arts Council will host the Northern Indigenous Arts Festival which will include a series of offerings in collaboration with Lheidli T'enneh (National Indigenous Peoples Day), Two Rivers Remix, and the Omineca Artist Run Centre Society. With a strong focus on Northern BC, the Festival is committed to the creation and dissemination of innovative, vibrant and diverse Indigenous art. Northern artists will come together and inspire each other; it will be an avenue for cultural carriers to support the important work of inspiring of Indigenous people to learn and connect to cultural practices and art forms. Everyone will be welcome and as many barriers as possible will be removed or mitigated through free admission.

As the event gains a positive reputation and prominence with artists, sponsors, and the community, the event will become known as one of the leading Indigenous Festivals in Canada due to its vision, event structure, and opportunities for professional development. The Festival will become an inspiration for other communities.
